What source information do you use for HuntMap maps?
All HuntMap topo maps are built using USGS 1:100000 and National Forest 1:24,0000 scale quadrangles maps as our base. These are generally the most detailed maps available, and they provide uniform information across the entire US.

How current is the map information?
All US Geological Survey maps are dated by their very nature and typically 10 to 30 years old. At HuntMap we overlay these old maps with current and up-to-date man-made features such as: roads, forest service trails, water-holes, Indian boundaries, city/village/town boundaries, game unit boundaries, etc.. We update our maps every 5-years or when more current information becomes available.

How much area does each map cover?
Our Hunt Unit maps cover your entire unit on one sheet of paper. All our HuntMaps are printed at a scale of 1:100,000 (or 1 inches = 1.58 miles) and because every unit is a different geographic area, we shrink or expand the paper to fit your unit on one sheet. Our smallest unit maps cover an area of 196 square miles and our largest can cover an area of up to 5,120 square miles.

What map sizes are available?
Our maps typically use 1:100,000, 1:80,000, 1:34,000 and 1:24,000 scales. We digitally resize the 1:100,000, 1:24,000 and 1:25,000-scale USGS topos to produce different scales depending on your needs.

These maps seem pretty expensive. Is it worth it?
MapTrex maps are really a bargain compared to the old outdated USGS maps they replace. Custom center topo map, save you money because typically you have to buy two, three or four tops to cover the area a custom centered topo covers. Why pay $10 per standard USGS map, online or from a store for old outdated maps? At HuntMap, you get the most current and up-to-date map available. All HuntMap maps are printed on our special rubberized, weather proof paper, that's so durable, you'll never have to buy another map again.

Are your maps really waterproof and tear proof?
Yes. Our maps are printed with specially designed inks on a an extremely durable paper and are completely waterproof and tear resistant. The paper we use is so unique, no other map company can duplicate it.

I use a GPS or compass for navigation. Will it work with your maps?
Yes. we include custom latitude/longitude and UTM (Universal Transverse Mercator) grids on every map. We also print current magnetic declination on every map for use for compass navigation.

How long does it take for me to get my map?
It takes only 24 hours (except weekends and national holidays) for map to be printed and shipped to you. We ship using US Postal 2-3 day Priority Mail service.

Do your maps come folded or rolled?
We ship you our maps rolled in a tube but feel free to fold them or crunch them up a ball and stuff in you pack back.
